  • New South Weekends go spooky on FRIDAY, OCTOBER 12 before Saturday’s MSU vs. Tennessee SEC contest! Get your costumes and celebrate Fall in Downtown Starkville from 6:00 – 8:00pm.

    DOWNTOWN STARKVILLE

    The official MSU vs. Tennessee Bulldog Pep Rally begins at 6:00pm featuring MSU Cheerleaders & Bully. And, you’re in for a treat as the Mississippi State Men’s Basketball team takes to a special Main Street court for a shoot around to kick off MSU Maroon Madness!

    Kids of all ages will enjoy:
    Trick-or-treating to Main Street merchants — wear your costume and bring your treat bags!
    Facepainting
    Inflatable Jumpers

    See if you can find the Great Pumpkin in our Downtown Pumpkin patch with locally grown pumpkins of all shapes, colors and sizes. Bring your camera for pictures in the patch! THEN, take your purchased pumpkin to the Starkville Area Arts Council pumpkin painting station to give it your own touch.

    Don’t miss our Main Street retailers vying for bragging rights in the Harvest Window Display decorating contest. Spooky music will be provided by Bill Thurlow with Thurlow’s Party-to-Go and you’ll enjoy late night shopping and dining with our Main Street shops and restaurants!

    Mark your calendars now for New South Weekend’s Pumpkinpalooza on October 12!

    Mississippi State Pep Rally at 6:00pm featuring Bully, MSU cheerleaders and AD Scott Stricklin!
    Maroon Madness, immediately following Pep Rally enjoy a shoot around with MSU men’s and women’s Basketball teams, Coach Rick Ray will speak and fans will have an opportunity to interact with the players!
    Pumpkin Patch featuring locally grown pumpkins from Lancaster Farms and locally grown mums from Busy Bee Nursery for sale
    Trick-or-Treating to Main Street merchants — wear your costume & bring your treat bags!
    Pumpkin Painting Station by Starkville Area Arts Council
