We are very excited to announce an opportunity for MSU students to get to know more about Starkville local businesses. SHADES OF STARKVILLE, presented by the MSU Student Association will be held on Monday, August 20 from 10am to 2pm on the Drill Field, and local businesses can participate. This event combines a showcase of both campus organizations and Starkville businesses to offer students a great picture of the services and fun opportunities available in Missisippi’s College Town. The combined event is the result of many comments received during this Spring’s Twitter Town Hall conducted by the Starkville Convention & Visitors Bureau/Starkville Main Street.
The Center for Student Activities is giving businesses an opportunity to travel to campus, educating students, faculty, and staff about what they have to offer. Any business can participate by paying a small fee in order to purchase booth space. Businesses will be able to bring any promotional items or giveaways, provide coupons for future visits, or simply chat to students as they browse through the showcase. The deadline to submit forms for participation is July 27.
We hope many of our great local shops, restaurants and businesses will take advantage of this opportunity to meet our students! And, if you’re not a business owner, mark your calendars to attend the showcase on August 20th! Starkville Main Street will see you there!
